We would first like to apologize for the lack of new articles on our website in past couple months. Not that there hasn’t been any new development in the electronic cigarette world – there’s actually been quite a bit of new advancements. So we are back on track with several new articles ready to go.
First in the series is this article on the newest clearomizer or cartomizer to hit the marketplace that actually makes some difference, the all new Black Devil KR808D Clearomizer from Sin City E Cigarette. They sent us a few back in December for us to review here on Electronic Smoke Tips.
Why we had to wait so long for this great new product, we don’t know, but it’s about time. First of all, a bit of back-story on a similar product. There has been a similar clearomizer out for Joye 510 for several years now but it never really became popular due to the fact that the clearomizers or cartomizers rarely worked. Okay, maybe that’s unfair, but they did have poor quality control or the technology just wasn’t there to be able to make it work. Often, the unit failed even before its first use. Try being on a cruise boat with 3 failed cartomizers and you’ll see how upset you can get (yes, it has happened to me, luckily I brought my F1s also).
These new clearomizer from Sin City for their version of the KR808D-1 is completely different from the Joye 510s. The new Black Devil CE Clearomizer is based on the popular CE4 clearomizer that has been all the rage in the e cig world these days. Although similar in size and shape, they work very differently and they WORK!
Think of it as CE4V2’s smaller sibling made just for the 808 e cigarette battery (see our article on CE4 V2). Now esmokers who prefer the light-weight and feel of the KR808D or Blu E Cig-type electronic cigarettes can join the eGo-based world in enjoying the CE clearomizers. No more messing around trying to pry open the cartridges, adding a few drops of e-juice and wiping off the excess, only to do it again by nightfall. Now filling the 808 e cigarette with your favorite e-liquid is a very simple and easy task that can be done in your car (in a parking lot or something, not while you are speeding on the freeway – yeah, that’s the CHP wondering if you are drunk swerving while filling your e cigs).
To fill the Black Devil KR808D Clearomizer, all you have to do is twist open the cap, which is also your mouth piece, and pour your e juice in. It’s that simple and easy. The vapor production is also very good giving the user thick, milky e smoke with great throat-hit. Works great with either automatic or manual batteries and the draw on it is smooth and easy. Not like sucking on a thick milkshake straw.
Two things we think needs improvement though. One, we couldn’t use very viscous e liquid such as our 70-30 (vg-pg) smoke juice. The clearomizer has no problems using the highly VG e-liquid but it was very hard to pour it in. The e-juice would stick to the sidewalls of the tank between the atomizer coil head and just wouldn’t drip down. Using a syringe by-passed this problem but recharge of the atomizer took a long time. When we switch to 30-70 (VG-PG) blended e liquid, that is when we realized how great this latest e cigarette was. Still had a bit of sticking to the side wall deal, but definitely not as bad as the VG e liquid. The recharge time decreased tremendously. That brings us to the next drawback – we had to often lean the e-liquid towards the atomizer while inhaling to get the best vapor production. So basically, the e cig tip is point up while using the personal vaporizer. Not a great inconvenience but hopefully they will find a solution for this. We noticed that the wicks in the CE was very short, similar to the original CE4. Perhaps when they extend the wicks, it may solve this situation.
We used our Black Devil CE constantly for two weeks and had absolutely no problems, ok, one problem. One of the ten clearomizers worked but was hard to inhale on. We figure it was defective and reported the problem to Sin City. The rest were superb! The some of the clearomizers started to fade after about a couple weeks of constant vaping, which is quite normal. We figure, if it gives off great esmoke for a week, the item did its job. We usually experience that they easily last about a couple weeks. We have had CE4V2 last over a month – and we vape heavily! You can clean them and reuse them. There are plenty of videos on YouTube – we will make sure some are on this site asap – that will show you how.
Overall, Black Devil CE clearomizer is a great new item that with some improvements can definitely be a game changer for small, cigarette-like electronic cigarettes. I’m sure Blu E Cig with their cartomizer aren’t happy about this development since it will definitely cut into their cartridge sales, but that isn’t our problem. It is our understanding that Sin City E Cigarette is working on 906 version and working on improving the 808.
What does all this mean to us? Well in the past two years, the competition is so heated with everyone and their mother getting their feet wet in electronic cigarette, that the quality and types of products has improved vastly. This means better products, a variety of e cig products and better quality items for the rest of us. We are loving it! We see more improvements coming in the next few months and will definitely review them for you.
We have been doing quite a bit of reviews of electronic cigarette on our site, but not much when it comes to reviews of liquid for e cigarette refill. What good is an e-cigarette without the e juice? E-juice or e-liquid is probably the most essential part of any vaping experience.
What is E Liquid or E Juice?
So what is an e liquid also known as e-juice or smoke juice? E Liquid, e juice, or smoke juice, is the fluid that e cigarette utilizes to produce vapor. It usually contains only a few ingredients such as flavoring (natural and/or artificial), nicotine in various concentrations, and the base liquid. The base liquid is vital since it keeps the nicotine solution in suspension and transports the fluid to the atomizer to vaporize. The base liquids for refilling your e-cigarettes are generally propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). Often, you will see the base liquid listed as only PG or VG. If it doesn’t list the base fluids, then assume it is PG since it is the most common carrier liquid available on the marketplace today.
Often, electric cigarettes such as the KR808D comes with cartridges prefilled with e juice. These cartridges and the extremely popular cartomizer or clearomizer, CE4V2, can be refilled with a variety of e liquid thus saving you even more money. A prefilled cartridge is generally sold for about $2 to $3 and holds approximately 1 ml of electronic cigarette nicotine solution. A typical 10 ml (most common size sold) bottle of smoke juice can often be purchased between $5 and $10 at most retailers. So, you can see that refilling your e cigarette with your own e juice will save you money and also allows you to try a variety of flavors that will suit you the best.
The base solution is very important component of e juice. Without the base liquid, which acts as a solvent and carrier, the nicotine solution and flavorings would be too thick to be utilized in any electronic cigarette. The base liquid thins the nicotine solution and flavorings to it can be transported to the atomizer via wicks and other conduits. The following are the two most common types of base e-liquid solutions used.
Propylene Glycol (PG)
Propylene glycol based e liquid are the most common e juice sold in America today. Common uses for propylene glycol is usually in the food or pharmaceutical industries and is FDA approved. They are used as carrier solutions for oral, injectable, and tropical medicine. Also used as food additives, E1520, as solvents for artificial and natural flavorings and colorings. PG is also used as a moisturizer in cosmetics, medicines, food, toothpaste, shampoo, and mouthwash.
One of the reason PG is often used for the nicotine solution for refilling your e cigarette is that it is thinner and has a lower viscosity than VG which allows for easier and quicker recharging of the e cig atomizer. This prevents dry puffs and reduces the damage incurred to the atomizer when dry puffed.
PG-based e liquid is usually best for flavored nicotine solution due to its natural neutral taste which doesn’t over-whelm the flavoring itself. When PG is used as the base solution for e-juice, it tends to give the e juice a slight sweet after-taste.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
Vegetable glycerin, VG for short, is a natural carbohydrate that is derived from plant oils. It is often used in the food industry as a sweetener and a key ingredient in many types of cosmetic products. It is also used in place of alcohol to extract essential oils from botanical items. VG is much thicker than PG which is one of the reason VG based e liquid produce thicker esmoke. We are unsure at this writing whether nut-derived oils are used to make VG.
Due to its higher viscosity, VG based smoke juices do not work well in many advanced electronic cigarettes and often burn-out the atomizers for it due to it slow movement to replenish the atomizer tray with e-juice. Many esmokers burn-out their atomizer due to dry puffing their e-cigs.
PG-VG Blended E Liquid
The major trend in e liquid is the PG-VG blended solutions trying to balance natural ingredients with maximum vapor production and safety with something that will work in most e-cigarettes. The ratios usually varies from 40-60 to 60-40 (PG-VG). Of course there are some that are 10-90 or 90-10 also depending on the brand. Both are water soluble solutions so quality and how it is made really counts. Some companies try to maximize profits by adding water to increase volume and lower viscosity.
Nicotine in E Liquid
The nicotine in e-liquid is usually artificially derived solution which is thick and gooey. When added to propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin, the PG or VG acts as a solvent which allows it to be carried into liquid form. There are a few e-juices on the market where the nicotine is actually processed from tobacco plants.
Most folks switch to esmokes and electronic cigarettes because they believe that e cigarettes are safer than tobacco cigarettes. Available information and many tobacco researchers at universities do suggest that electric cigarettes are safer, but this has not been confirmed scientifically. There have been absolutely no long term studies conducted on e-cigarette use and its essential component, e-liquid or e-juice.
Watch for our future articles on e-liquids and e-juices coming soon. Thank you for visiting our site and reading our articles.
We often get emails from some of our readers asking us which is better, a cartomizer based e cigarette or an atomizer-tank based electronic cigarette? There really isn’t any clear cut answer to this question. We often reply back asking the questionnaire what e cigarette(s) they were interested in and go from there. First, let’s define or rather describe each type of esmoke vapor generator and go from there.
The venerable atomizer-based e cigarette system has been around since the very beginning of the electronic cigarette revolution we are experiencing today. From the good ole’ days of eHealth mini electronic cigarettes to the newest, most advanced e cigarette available today uses the atomizer-tank based system. The atomizer contains a heating coil or element that vaporizes the e liquid into the esmoke you inhale. The e liquid is delivered to the heating coils and reservoir cup directly below by a wick or nickel-mesh usually attached to the atomizer. The e-liquid is delivered to the heating element via the wick or mesh from a tank or reservoir for e-juice. The tank itself maybe pure e-liquid cartridge or the e-liquid may be retained by a synthetic fibrous material. More and more, tanks are usually pure e-liquid style.
The atomizer-based advanced e cigarette has a power source (battery) which is connected to the atomizer which is connected to the tank or e juice reservoir. The atomizer and tank or sometimes just the atomizer is covered with a sleeve which meters the airflow and covers up the entire contraption. Examples of atomizer-tank based electronic cigarettes are EGO-T, Joye 510, Ovale Elips, Elips LSK-A, and EGO-C.
Cartomizer based electric cigarettes are probably the most popular system around. They are ubiquitous as most e cigarette shops online sell a version of 808 and 901 which are rebranded. These types of electronic cigarette look like 100’s sized cigarette and comes in two parts, the battery and the screw-in cartomizer. Very simple and easy to use although many sites sell these rebranded e cigs for $50 or more. The cartomizer itself is a combination of atomizer and tank into a simple, one-piece unit, hence the name. Many esmokers simply call them “carts” and atomizers “atty.”
Some cartomizers, such as the ones that appear similar to cigarettes, are disposable. Although sold as disposable, they can be easily refilled with any e liquid. Just search YouTube using search terms such as “808 cartridge refill” etc. Still others are sold as refillable cartomizer such as the EGO F1 or EGO-W. There are also numerous aftermarket cartomizer that fit existing EGO/510 threaded batteries. The CE4V2 and DST with dual-coils are rapidly gaining popularity due to the ease of use and no leakages which occur on many advanced electronic cigarettes. The advanced cartomizers nowadays lasts longer and are cheaper to use than ever before. They come in a variety of colors and hold as much as 6 ml of e juice.
So, which is better? Neither and both. It really up to your preference and which e cigarette you plan on purchasing. The automatic battery equipped 808 e cigs are great for beginners and something for the office desk drawer but a more advanced electronic cigarette will allow much more versatility in terms of esmoke thickness and ease of refilling the e-cigarette. Advanced e cigarette comes in both forms without any performance degradation between any of the two vaping systems. Ability to control the amount of esmoke an electronic cigarette produces and quality of the product appears to be more important and indicative of how well an e smoke device will perform and not whether it is equipped with an atomizer or cartomizer.
Electronic Cigarettes as Harm Reduction Devices: A University Research Report
Why is there so much debate about the efficacy of electronic cigarettes? Is it not obvious that e cigarettes are much safer than regular tobacco cigarette? Even with positive reports regarding e cigarettes, governmental and anti-smoking organizations continue with their attacks on electronic cigarettes. Nobody says they are great for your health, just a lot better than cigarettes and hopefully on your way to quitting all together. With true advanced electronic cigarette where you can refill with e liquid of your choice, the nicotine level can now be controlled by the user. Then it becomes a matter of weaning yourself off the nicotine by reducing nicotine levels slowly. Although many passed published reports indicate that cold hard love or also known as cold turkey was the only effective methods, recent published reports indicate that weaning one’s self from addiction was just as effective. Warm love or motivational encouragements tend to work better and with much less resistance and anxiety.
There is an article posted at Harvard.edu regarding electronic cigarette and analyze it from the perspective as a choice harm reduction, a view point not often taken by governmental or anti-smoking organizations. The report analyzes data from a variety of sources, including the infamously poorly conducted analysis report by FDA. They researchers also took into account pharmaceutical products for smoking cessation and comparing all levels of nitrosamines in the products and compare it to nitrosamines found in e liquid for e cigarettes.
The thorough research report published in the Journal of Public Health Policy and posted here at Harvard.edu (http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/centers-institutes/population-development/files/article.jphp.pdf) also analyzes the effectiveness of electronic cigarettes as a way to quit smoking and many other interesting reports. Since the introduction of electronic cigarettes and the subsequent attacks by groups that should embrace the technology that have published opinions against e cigarettes, electronic cigarettes are starting to gain legitimacy. People are starting to recognize the hollowness of anti-ecig groups’ attacks on e cigarettes as their own self-preservation. They have not served their stated purposes and have not advanced the debate beyond its initial stage. The research report should put any doubts about e smokes to an end.
Smoking is the most dangerous addiction and habit many of us inflict upon ourselves. It affects us, the smoker, and nonsmokers alike in a very negative fashion. It even affects the environment negatively (see our article on Going Green with Advanced Electronic Cigarette). It is not only a habit that is hard to stop, but also very addictive as well. This combination makes quitting cigarette smoking formidable task.
The government agencies such as CDC and vehemently antismoking organizations in the US only offer current smokers “cold turkey” as the only effectively proven method. Success rate for cold turkey is a dismal single digits and doesn’t break down who quit using cold turkey and how long and how much they smoked.
Yes, they also suggest using patches, gum, lozenges, and prescription medication. A majority of these nicotine delivery products have been around for over twenty years. Many smokers doing their best to quit smoking have used these products over the years, most still unable to quit smoking cigarettes. The prescription drug has its own special issues we have read about in the mass media.
In the end, much of the nicotine delivery systems end up being used by smokers to get them through the day at the office, through traveling on airlines, and through public transportation. This does very little to help the smokers quit cigarettes.
It is often wondered out loud, half in jest and half seriously, that the government agencies and US antismoking groups really don’t want you to quit smoking cigarettes. They stand to lose substantial amounts of money, prestige and influence and not mention all the antismoking fundraising and parties. Many foreign antismoking groups, US and foreign university professors and researches have endorsed electronic cigarettes as US antismoking groups continue to campaign against e cigarettes. They point to e smoke’s lack of long term study. Researchers who endorse e smoke logically point out facts such as the lack of substantial amounts of noxious chemicals, fire retardants, ammonia, etc. in electronic cigarettes. All the chemicals in e juice or e liquid come from approved ingestible compounds that are already used in many medications and food products.
If these organizations were actually interested in you, they should have been testing it when it originally came out in the US back in 2005. On a side note, it was invented by a Chinese pharmacist who watched his father pass on from lung cancer due to many years of smoking. The experience of this led Mr. Hon Lik to invent electronic cigarette. Instead of scientific or medical curiosity, these US antismoking organizations just attack it without any evidence to support their views. You just have to wonder what their true motives are. It is also thought out loud around here that if this was invented by a US or European pharmacist, would they be more likely to endorse it?
Electronic cigarettes are gaining popularity not from main stream media, although some major media outlets are starting to warm up to e cigarettes, but from former smokers themselves. Higher margin of smokers are able to quit smoking cigarettes utilizing e smoke than going cold turkey and in much less painful and stressful manner.
Former smokers are almost grateful for e cigarettes, especially those who have been smoking since their teens and now are in their 30’s and 40’s. These long term smokers have usually tried to quit smoking cigarettes for many years without much long term effect or success. They may have decreased use or succeeded for a short while but fell right back into their old habits.
The main reasons many former smokers endorse electronic cigarette is due to the “smoking” experience that it delivers. Perhaps that is the key ingredient that gum, patches, and others methods cannot deliver.
Will using e cigarettes guarantee that you can quit smoking? The answer is usually no. It still takes will power, but the amount required just decreased substantially. Other habits have to change too. It’s a web of habits now after so many years of smoking. Habits of the mind are also very powerful pull at work within our subconscious.
Many smokers plan their day around smoking. They might no longer really put much effort or thought into it, but still do plan. Just think about it. Airline travel is a really good example since for many it doesn’t happen often. When you plan your travel, what are you thinking? Do you grab one more cigarette prior to entering the airport building? You are planning because you know that once you are inside, you are not going through security again and there is nowhere to smoke inside. Do you check to see if the hotel allows smoking in the room? You are planning. Do you calculate when you could have your next cigarette? When your plane is delayed, what’s one of the thoughts that come to mind – your next cigarette just got delayed.
With electronic cigarette, smokers finally have a useful tool to help in their endeavor. However, you still need to be determined and disciplined to make certain your success to quit smoking cigarettes forever.
The following should help with your use of e cigarette:
Change Your Diet
Eat healthy and nutritious, balanced meals. Stop eating processed foods and foods that are acidic. Acidic foods throws the balance off your body ability to recover.
Exercise – even if you are not quitting cigarette, always good. Make a renewed effort and actually go to the gym, walk around your ‘hood, etc. You can even make money doing this – go walk your neighbor’s dog for a couple bucks or just to be kind. This will also change your routine in a great way.
Know when and what activity increases your desire to smoke and avoid or substitute it with a better habit or situation. Substitution usually works out better. Whenever you get cravings for a cigarette, breathe deeply and slowly. Then go do something to distract your thoughts. Go do something fun but don’t go to your local bar. That’s not going to help.
Tell everyone you are quitting, this might be tough but it shows your ego that you are serious and public. Avoid stressful situations and places at least for now. Listen to motivational cd’s to get constant encouragement.
I am not a smoker. I am getting better every day, bit by bit, better every day. I will succeed.
Or something similar every day, many times a day. Stick on a sticky all over your house. Positive affirmations help in many different ways.
Mine is similar to Napoleon Hill’s suggested self-affirmation:
God is always a good God. I am getting better every day. Every day I am improving. Failures are just lessons to learn for my next success. God is Love. I am completely responsible for occurrences in my life. I will succeed in bringing my desires to reality or something better.
You can do it. Be determined, unfailing, and KNOW that you will succeed and every night imagine yourself as a nonsmoker, doing nonsmoker things and be very detailed and make it real!
For many years now, numerous groups and organizations have been trying to get cigarette makers to reduce or eliminate synthetic chemicals in their tobacco products. Since the late 1980’s, various state regulatory agencies have enacted measures to address dangerous second hand smoke. Most states now have complete ban on indoor smoking in public places. Some are more stringent than others, but basically no smoking indoors in any public area. Some have regulations as to how close to a building you may smoke and unfortunately they have been adding e-cigarettes or e smoke to that list.
There are benefits from this that we can all enjoy, smoker and non-smokers alike, such as being able to take your children to eateries, restaurants, movie theaters, bowling alley, and so on without having to worry about what they are breathing.
There is a subtle thing we all see but able to block out of our mind. The mass of litter from discarded cigarette butts. We see this everywhere. Just pull over your car out in the middle of nowhere, look down and you will see at least one cigarette butt, often much more. Many smokers still flick their cigarettes right out the window. We have all seen some anonymous cigarette smoker dump his ashes right there in the parking lot and drive away. Many time, just a mere few steps from a trash bin.
Depending on where you live, cigarette butts do not degrade quite so readily. It is estimated to take anywhere from 2 years to up to 15 years to degrade. During this time, often cigarette butts are washed into storm drains after rains and wash out into the ocean. Most of the world population lives near the ocean or coastal regions. The discarded cigarette filters are usually full of tar, nicotine, and myriads of other toxic chemicals that as they degrade, they release the chemicals into the environment.
One cigarette butt wouldn’t mean much, but imagine approximately 20 cigarette butts a day person, all over the world. Then imagine that daily number of cigarette butts and multiply it by the days in the 365 and you’ll see the staggering amount of toxic chemicals being release unchecked into the environment.
There are numerous reports indicating that many animals such as ducks, dogs, cats, and various other animals, both domesticated and wild, are getting cancer from eating cigarette butts or chocking on cigarette butts.
With electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes, the above mentioned situation becomes a unlikely debate. Advanced electronic smoking devices where you can refill the cartridges are the only option to go green with electronic cigarettes. The common disposable kinds often just produce a different kinds of waste, often almost as bad and doesn’t degrade. Users often carry a spare disposable cartridge in their car or purse. When the owners change their disposable cartridge, sometimes that spent cartridge doesn’t make into the trash bin.
Advanced electronic cigarettes with refillable cartridges provide multiple uses, usually changed at home thus owners would throw it in their trash. This helps reduce waste and saves the users quite a bit of money, many times measured in hundreds of dollars per year. The more sophisticated electronic cigarettes are powered by lithium-ion rechargeable batteries that lasts up to 2 years can be properly disposed and recycled.
The added benefits of e cigarette are they do not produce smoke, but vapors heated by an element within the atomizer, which gives a sensation of smoke, thus giving the user, whether they are trying to quit smoking cigarette or switch, an alternative to traditional smoking.
Due to lack of studies, both short term and long term, the FDA has not endorsed electronic cigarettes, but rather attacked it. After a lawsuit they decided to settle last year, they haven’t said much on the subject.
There are many leading university professors that research tobacco have come out in support of e cigarettes. They point to the fact that tobacco cigarettes have over 5000 known and over 5000 unknown chemicals in them while e-cigarettes have only a few known substances. These are the base liquid which is generally propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, synthetic nicotine at various concentrations, and flavorings. Propylene glycol, often called PG, are approve food and medicinal additives found in a range of foods, drinks, snacks, and medicine.
There are still some organizations and individual who profess that e-cigarettes have not been proven safe so therefore people should steer clear of using them. If it helps people quit smoking cigarettes and perhaps wean themselves off the nicotine using electric cigarette for awhile, isn’t that a benefit not a liability for both the smokers and environment? Perhaps a few known FDA approved compounds might be better than over 10,000 known and unknown chemicals including a fire-retardant placed in two sections of the cigarette. FDA and CDC along with various quit-smoking groups continue to spout “cold turkey” as the only method to quit. If it was that relatively easy to quit smoking, it is certain that a majority of smokers would have done so by now.
It appears relatively clear that electric cigarette hold a great promise of possibly helping the environment and help cigarette smokers quit smoking. This is a great win-win situation.

Quitting Cigarettes Utilizing eSmoke
January 14, 2012
I believe that many people would like to quit smoking cigarettes but their ambivalence to do so leaves them in defeat. We have all been there. Many smokers would love to quit smoking for one reason or another- saving money, don’t want to be the only one in the neighborhood who pays extra tax daily when purchasing cigarettes, for the children, for better health, etc. The list could go on forever.
Perhaps you don’t want to quit, but realize that smoking cigarettes laden with a myriad of noxious chemicals and since last year, fire retardant in two sections of the cigarette, to be undesirable and looking for an alternative. Maybe you already tried making or rolling your own cigarettes with natural tobacco but find it hard to get good, consistent smokes or just too time consuming.
Whatever your reasons maybe, I believe that this form of alternative “smoking” experience may be exactly what you have been searching for.
Many of us have seen the mall kiosks with electronic cigarettes. Most of us were put off with the extremely high price for something that appears very inconsequential. We go home and check the internet going through numerous affiliate sites and self-branded sites. We end up seeing the same mall kiosk prices but now even more confused about which ones to buy, which one is good, or which site has the best prices. Sometimes, Google can offer too many varying choices of apples and oranges.
Make http://www.eSmokeDepot.com your last stop in your search for quality electronic cigarettes at rock bottom prices.
Some have used electronic cigarettes to quit smoking, first by quitting the actual tobacco smoking and then weaning themselves off nicotine with less nervousness and irritation than cold turkey. You can get e liquid in various nicotine strength from very high mg to no nicotine. Some even continue esmoking even after they weaned themselves off nicotine by using non nicotine e liquids. Some add variety by choosing e liquid with flavoring such as coffee, strawberry, menthol, mint, melon, etc. in various strength of nicotine concentration and non nicotine e juice.
There are just so many ways to enjoy electronic cigarette smoking. Make e smoking fun again! There are also numerous advantages to switch to electronic cigarettes. First, you no longer reek of cigarette smoke after taking a cig break at your office. Good for having to talk to your boss who probably is a nonsmoker. Your sense of smell and taste will return. Delicious foods and treats will now burst with flavors –certain you have forgotten how food really tastes! Now, you too can smell the cat litter from a mile away. After a while, even you may not be able to stand the smell of a smoker after a cigarette. Okay, maybe the return of the sense of smell might not be all heaven, but when you’re in the mountains, hiking and not coughing and wheezing, and you smell the faint smell of fresh mountain air, you’ll be very happy you switched.
FDA, in its recent lawsuit settlement had extracted in the deal that electronic cigarette cannot be advertised or sold as a healthy alternative or a smoking cessation product. Well, it is not exactly healthy, true. You are ingesting nicotine and there are no long term research studies performed on e smoke. Fine, good argument but don’t they use Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, and PG400 in food and pharmaceuticals? Hmmmm……..and most tobacco users are already ingesting nicotine….hmmmm. Maybe all those years spent in school and graduate studies just didn’t prepare me to comprehend FDA’s logic behind all the debasement of electronic cigarettes.
Some also say that electronic cigarettes are being marketed to teens utilizing flavored e liquid. Not sure why only teens are allowed to enjoy flavored e liquid…..I do and I’m definitely not in my teens.
I have heard and read that even President Obama has or is using electronic cigarettes. I have not been able to confirm this, well, okay…..haven’t checked into to it at all. It doesn’t really matter to me that much. Super glad he’s using esmoke if he truly is……..
By using electronic cigarettes, you won’t automatically just quit cigarettes. But for that matter, neither does the patches, gums and the like or prescription drug. I tried them all including hypnosis. Most of the cessation products and methods just didn’t appeal to me although I very much wanted to quit smoking cigarettes. It works only if you want it and therefore by the force of your will, you make it work. But something that appears to have prospects of pain and suffering just really doesn’t appeal to most folks.
With e smoke, I was able to substitute a horrible habit with something I found to be much more acceptable. Currently, I am weaning myself off nicotine and using low nicotine strength e liquid. It’s working fine, occasional irritability, nothing that affects the family or friends. I don’t know if I really want to quit esmoking though. It was the original plan, yet now, I am really starting to have fun with it and actually enjoy esmoking. Lately, I have been trying different flavors of e liquid and it’s not bad at all. And being able to esmoke indoors (only in the bathroom and study with the fan on) instead of being banished to the sweltering heat or freezing cold. You CAN quit smoking cigarettes! Switch to an alternative “smoking” experience and esmoke!

Well some people just have a hard time playing along and following the rules. Well this guy, Pogos Paul Sefilian, just didn’t understand, well, lots of rules and plain common courtesy, especially over esmokes.
When told by the flight attendant of a Southwest Airline that e smoking was prohibited in flight, repeatedly, Pogos decided that he would unleash his inner child. Not exactly sure what he threw, some reports have it has peanuts, some pretzels and some both, but he threw precious inflight snacks at the flight attendants.
Geez, that won’t have consequences, not. He just had to prove his point so much, it has landed in jail. With the Patriot Act, that means his action would be considered terrorism and more than likely looking at a minimum of two years of FEDERAL prison time. There have been cases of couples having sex in airline bathrooms, etc getting more than that and banned from future flights.
There are many ways to handle this type of situation and the above example is not quite the best way. If he was an actor, maybe, since the saying goes, no publicity is bad publicity. Wonder what the heck his family is thinking about him now.
FAA has banned e smoking from all flights. Airports are not too keen on electronic cigarettes either. Let’s face it, smoking in any form has a bad reputation, period. Smokers feel the haters all the time, during cigarette breaks at the office, outside restaurants or bars, etc. The key here is to get around this situation. Let’s all be a little Buddist in these types of situation. In the above stated situation, Pogos should have complied with the attendants’ request. Later, he should have gone to the bathroom, discreetly, and “light up” his esmoke. No one would have been wiser and he could have had his nicotine and “smoke” fix. There have been no reports known by the writer of e cigs setting off the bathroom smoke detectors. Just don’t blow your e smoke right into the detector.
There are many ways to discreetly vape on your e cig. If you have some ways of vaping in public without getting notice, please leave your comments and spread the word.
Your new electronic cigarette is not a complicated device but with anything new there is always going to be a bit of a learning curve. Here are some tips on the best way to maximize your electronic smoking experience so you can save both time and money.
Tips for new electronic smokers:
1. Get extra batteries and atomizers. These are the two things that are most likely to need replacing. A quick word of caution: It’s a good idea to make sure you like your particular electronic cigarette model first before buying all the extras. Once you know for sure you’re satisfied with it, get the extra hardware… you’ll definitely get good use out of them!
2. Get a car charger and a USB passthrough. These will allow you to “vape” while driving or at your computer without the need to drain your batteries. Again, make sure you’re satisfied with your model before buying the extras.
3. Start off with a lower nicotine dose. Electronic cigarette cartridges typically come in several different doses: High, medium, low and none. When you first get your e-cigarette you’re going to want to be experimenting with it a lot, trying new flavors, etc. If you’re not careful you’ll end up absorbing more nicotine than you’re used to… and possibly increasing your addiction to it. Start off low and increase your dose after the novelty wears off if you feel like it.
4. Take long, slow puffs. A long, slow, steady puff will give you the most vapor volume. Short, hard puffs will tend to flood the atomizer causing reduced vapor production (you may even get liquid in your mouth).
5. Switch atomizers frequently. Atomizers tend to get clogged easily and when this happens the vapor volume is greatly reduced. Switch out your atomizer daily for best performance and be sure to clean them frequently. (This tip only applies to three-part e-cigs where the atomizer is a separate unit. Some newer two-piece models have a built in atomizer in each individual cartridge).
Follow these tips and you will have a head start on being able to fully enjoy your new electronic cigarette as soon as possible. If you’re unsure about something be sure to check out some of the ecigarette forums online. These can be an excellent resource for answering nearly any question you can think of.
Congratulations on choosing a healthier smoking alternative… happy vaping!
The Green Smoke electronic cigarette is quickly becoming a favorite among “vaping” enthusiasts and for good reason: It has distinct design differences that give the user the most realistic and satisfying smoking experience… and without the hassles typically associated with other ecigarette models.
Most companies are selling electronic cigarettes in a 3-piece design:
3. Nicotine cartridge
The Green Smoke design consists of only 2 pieces:
2. Atomizer & cartridge combined
Why does this make such a HUGE difference?
With the 3-piece design the atomizer gets used over and over. This leads to a dirty, clogged atomizer that becomes much less efficient over time. A clean atomizer is essential for getting maximum vapor volume. The more quality vapor you can get with each draw is very important for a satisfying and realistic “smoking” experience. Reusable atomizer found in 3-piece designs need to be replaced frequently… a hidden cost not mentioned in the sales material. Some products even have the additional headache of having to drop liquid nicotine solution into the filter.
The 2-piece design as found in the Green Smoke model eliminates the problems associated with the reusable atomizer. Because the atomizer is built into the nicotine cartridge, you get a fresh atomizer every time you change cartridges (one cartridge is about the equivalent of 20-30 tobacco cigarettes). This is why Green Smoke has the highest smoke volume industry. No other models even come close.
It’s very common for many people to initially try a cheap 3-piece design only to be disappointed. These are the same people that go on to say electronic smoking doesn’t work well. It’s worth it to spend a few extra dollars and get a 2-piece design that you will be happy with.
Not all e-cigarettes are created equal. It’s important to educate yourself on the differences so you don’t end up going through a lot of unnecessary (and expensive) trial and error. Green Smoke offers a technologically advanced device that will give you the most realistic and satisfying smoking experience in the industry. The highest smoke volume, convenience of use, reliability, cleanliness and an extended battery life all add up to make Green Smoke a wise electronic cigarette choice.
